YONGE AND EGLINTON NEIGHBOURHOOD
History
At the turnof the nineteenth century Yonge and Eglinton was part of the largest cattle grazing region in Upper Canada (now the Southern region of Ontario). The farmland in the area slowly faded away over the next century, as businesses and housing started to develop, especially after the Eglinton Subway station was opened in 1954.
